I quit caffeine before even finishing the introduction of this book. It has definitely helped me reduce my intake. There is often a caffeine connection to hyperactivity, learning and behaviour disorders, cancer, heart disease, ulcers, headaches, allergies, birth defects and more.

Much of what Cherniske writes in here is confirmed in other research I’ve read, but it’s good to see I wish I had this book 11 years ago!!! How true is this book? Coffee is traditionally thought of as a pick-me-up, but many people find that it can actually make them feel tired.

This well-researched and well-reasoned book methodically goes through all the reasons caffeine is far from harmless. Still, everyone should try not drinking it for a month and see how they feel–I’m guessing it would be better, not worse.
This has been the go-to book for most health related topics for over fifteen years and is still relevant today. In the midst of new literature about why caffeine is allegedly good for you, I still think Cherniske provides more compelling evidence for why it is not.
