P I made it to page 11 and felt like I was wasting my time. There in the depths is a mysterious and beautiful creature with a sharp tongue and a broken heart, a b named Aquamarine who has left her family to search for true love on land. I liked this book a lot. Also, you will see something the adventures the go through, when finding something unusual in the pool.
Now, as this mythological yet very real being starts to fade in aqumarine burning August sun, a rescue is begun.
When a violent thunderstorm occurs, a large quantity of trash is deposited in the Capri Beach Club. The next day Raymond found out she was a mermaid.
The necessity of returning Aquamarine to the ocean is thus made more urgent. As she leaves, Aquamarine gives Raymond a seashell, by which to contact her by speaking her name into it; she will hear this call regardless of their relative positions. Hailey and Claire are spending their last summer together when they discover something at the bottom of the murky pool at the Capri Beach Club. May appeal to young girls with a mermaid craze. I was at least expecting her to develop a little throughout the book, perhaps learn a little humility, or that sometimes you have to make sacrifices for everyone’s well-being, or at least to appreciate the things you have and what other people are willing to do for you.
Next there’s the dreamboat snack shack guy. Aquamarine was a character that interested me because she was head-strong and stubborn but only because hoffmxn was different and didn’t like people staring at her. It’s obviously better for kids. It was very cool it just went by soooo FAST!! The plot and the characters made it painful to read.

Even worse, the Capri Beach Club is getting demolished. It is kind of a kids book, but it’s fun.
I would’ve liked more adventure and hooffman development within the story and characters as well. One day before Claire leaves she discovers something at the bottom of a pool at the Capri beach club.
Hailey and Claire advise Aquamarine to return to the ocean, however she refuses, because of her new attachment to Raymond.
At 9 o’clock, they take Aquamarine back to the swimming pool. They have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Refresh and try again. They spend their days at the decrepit Capri Beach Club, which has fallen on hard times and has only Raymond, the snack shop clerk, to keep them in lemonade. It is well written for younger girls to whom friendship and love mean everything. I guess she leaves something behind in the end, but I feel like those could have been reminders for the characters to think about HER, as she is rather self-obsessed.
