Set in Nevada and San Francisco, their challenges in discovering the truth changes everything they thought they knew about each other, and themselves. I like the premise of the plot because it looks intriguing but going through the book it was somewhat underdeveloped. There were conspiracy theories that circled all over the internet and news networks that had something to do with either weather, fireworks, the Mayan apocalypse and invisible UFOs.
Lo at the Texas Book Festival. Sadly, there’s so much going on that things don’t necessarily get a chance to build. When we finally got back to it, it felt thrown together and confusing But perhaps that also stems from the fact that David has no personality to speak of.

I don’t mind it so much and find it rather refreshing after reading lots of books with extremely close POVs, which can be emotionally draining. Reese is an interesting character, rather capable, and her voice was mailnda so wonderfully in the third person limited point of view. There are also a lot of aadptation conversations about queerness, like how “queer” is still considered a slur by some people, how it’s not your fault if a sexuality label causes people to make shitty assumptions about adatpation, that needing time to sort your head out is okay, and so on.
Across North America, flocks of birds hurl themselves into airplanes, adaptatoin at least a dozen to crash. Birds have caused four planes all over the country to crash for some mysterious reason. While she’s attracted to David, she’s also attracted to Amber, and she’s struggling to determine who she wants to be with.
I like the basic framework for the story as well as the overall storyarc, and felt the writing was engaging and even-handed.
